A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) attached to the Ado Odo Divisional Headquarters, Mr. Bolade Agboola, slumped and died during a fitness exercise on Friday.
Agboola, who until his death was the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of the station, was said to have gone to a nearby Alamuwa Secondary School compound to join others in physical exercise when he collapsed and passed out.
He was reportedly rushed to a private hospital where he was confirmed dead by doctors.
The deceased, according to close sources, was said to have returned from his hometown in Ekiti State a few days ago after a brief illness.
He was said to have been advised by doctors to engage in fitness exercise.

“The incident happened at about 7:.50am yesterday when Agboola went to Alamuwa Secondary School to exercise his body. He met a group of local footballers there and joined them in fitness training during which he suddenly slumped and could not be revived,” said a source who asked not to be named.
The body of the police officer has since been deposited in the mortuary.
